Our resident Head Chef, Dane, whipped up a special treat this week for our lucky Blakehurst residents. Dane regularly hosts cooking demonstrations which everyone greatly appreciates and enjoys. The smell of gourmet Arancini balls being pan-fried wafted through the hallways attracting much interest from residents and staff.
Made on site from fresh ingredients, Dane commented that it was not a secret family recipe, rather a beautiful combination of pumpkin and sage carefully encased inside a risotto ball. The Arancini are then quickly heated for a slight crunch on the outside but still remain warm and soft on the inside.
It was a case of ‘more please’ as residents and staff gathered together to enjoy the demonstration and taste the finished product. Feedback for Dane was a 10 out of 10 with lots of interest and discussion about when and what the next demonstration would entail!
