Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission assesses all government-funded aged care homes against provider responsibilities to deliver safe and effective care services.

These responsibilities are set out under the Aged Care Act 2024 and include the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

Ibis Care complies with the Quality Standards, aligning with quality and safety requirements. The Statement of Rights strengthens our commitment to these Quality Standards and puts the rights of older people first.

Statement of Rights

The Aged Care Act 2024 includes a Statement of Rights that explains the rights older people will have when accessing aged care services funded by the Australian Government.

The Statement of Rights will help make sure you are at the centre of your aged care.
You will have the right to:
• make your own decisions about your own life
• have your decisions not just accepted, but respected
• get information and support to help you make decisions
• communicate your wishes, needs and preferences
• feel safe and respected
• have your culture and identity respected
• stay connected with your community.

Safety, Infection Prevention and Control

At Ibis Care our priority is the health and safety of residents in our care. We have a comprehensive infection prevention and control program with measures in place to minimise transmission to residents and staff.

All necessary steps are taken to prevent, detect and control the spread of infections through an effective program that is in line with national guidelines. Staff are educated and trained on best-practice infection prevention and control.

Visitors and residents are frequently informed and reminded of the need for using measures that prevent infection transmission such as good hand hygiene and mask wearing.

Do you have feedback? We want to hear it.
